The mountain is nestled in the 3200-acre Stone Mountain Park, campgrounds, glassy lakes and miles of hiking and running trails. The park blends urban and natural, offering both beautiful swaths of forest and exceptional mountaintop views.
Cherokee Trail will take you through the woods, around the lakes and around the side of the mountain. It’s a great opportunity to see parts of Stone Mountain park that you may not have seen before. Enjoy the wild yellow daises that bloom at this time of the year along the mountain trails. The hike is about 6 miles long and will take about 3-4 hours to complete. After the hike, we will take a tram car to the top of the mountain to sit and watch the sun set on a early fall day.
