The Foothills Trail is a 77 mile woodland trail along the Blue Ridge Escarpment.  It crosses rivers, lakes and the highest point in South Carolina.

We will be section hiking this beautiful trail over the next couple of years doing maybe one or two sections each month. This second section that we will be hiking is Nicholson Ford Road to Burrells Ford Road.  This section of the trail is fairly long and that is the reason this hike is rated D3. However there is not much elevation change as the hike mostly follows the Chatooga river. So the trail will not be difficult, just long. It should be good trail though as hiking near running water is always a good experience.

We will shuttle cars between the start and finishing points.
