We are excited to be offer a combined event with iFace.org. I think we might even get a nice lunch provided after we come back from the very top of the mountain to the parking lot.

Beautiful Brasstown Bald, rising 4,784 feet above sea level, is Georgia’s highest mountain.  On clear days, the spectacular 360-degree view from atop the mountain allows you to see four states, including Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. The surrounding area is home to a wide variety of plants and animals. The Visitor Information Center, located on the summit of the Bald, offers exhibits, video presentations and interpretive programs.

We will start our hike by driving to the main parking lot at Brasstown Bald and take the ½ mile trail to the top of the mountain.  It is a fairly steep climb of 425 feet but the view is worth it.

For those that want to continue hiking after lunch we are going to hike the Arkaquah Trail. This is a mostly downhill hike for about 5.5 miles from Brasstown Bald to Trackrock Gap Road. At the bottom of the hill our cars will be there waiting for us so we don’t even have to climb back up the mountain!

If you don’t want to join us on the Arkaquah trail iFace will be offering some visits to some other scenic spots in the area.
