This is a new hike that we have never done before. The Chattooga River trail  and the famous Bartram Trail coincide at the point where we will be hiking so you get to do two trails at the same time. The trail is located near the Chattooga river which forms the border between Georgia and South Carolina.

We will start at Gold Mine road (yes there really was a gold mine here) and hike to Dicks Creeek Falls where we will have lunch. Dicks Creek Falls is a pretty waterfall that empties into the Chattooga River. There is a good place to get into the water so bring your swimsuit if you want to get wet.  We will have lunch there and even if you don’t want to get completely wet I recommend you take your shoes and socks off and wade in the water to have lunch on the small island in the river.
