Carpool Time: 10:30 AM at Intown Community Church
Cost: $15 ($10 for driver and $5 for tube rental).
Tubing Time: 2.5 hours
Hiking distance: 5.5 miles. 1100 feet climb.

Age Limit: Any age for tubing. Age 10 and older for the hike.
We’ll be renting tubes from Cool River Tubing Company. Children welcome but you’ll have to keep up with them on the river. (ttp://www.coolrivertubing.com/tubing/)
Please bring the followings:
– Swimwear
– Snacks Packed/Lunch
– Cash for driver and tube rental
– Change of clothes and footwear
– Towel Shoes that you don’t mind getting wet
– Water bottle
Recommended Items:
– Short stick (about 3’ in length) or hiking pole – useful for pushing off the bank
– Hat
– Sunscreen
– Bug Spray or wipes
– Flashlight – if you join hiking.
We will start the hike around 5:30 pm which will give us time to prepare after the tubing and maybe get some dinner at Helen. Sunset at Yonah will be about 8pm so that will give us time to make the hike to the top.
Please note that if you do the sunset hike you will not be home until around midnight
Yonah Mountain is located near Helen Ga. There is approximately a 1500 ft elevation gain in around 2.5 miles. As we near the top, we will veer off the main trail and hike along the side of the exposed rock face. We will spend some time on a rocky outcrop with an excellent view near the top of the mountain and then move around to another rocky outcrop on the west side to view the sunset. It does involve some steep sections and rocky terrain, and should prove to be moderately strenuous. This is a D3 level hike.
Please note we will be coming down in the dark. There is a full moon this weekend so if there’s not too much cloud cover we will have some light. However you should bring a flashlight.
