Yonah Mountain is located near Helen Ga.  There is approximately a 1400 ft elevation gain in around 2.5 miles. As we near the top, we will veer off the main trail and hike along the side of the exposed rock face. We will have lunch on a rocky outcrop with an excellent view near the top of the mountain or on the grass patch at the summit. It does involve some steep sections and rocky terrain, and should prove to be moderately strenuous.  It will take us about 1.5 hours to drive to the location. After the hike we will drive in to Helen Ga and spend about an hour looking around and maybe stop for an ice cream.

PLEASE NOTE:
This hike does have some elevation gain but should be manageable for anyone is reasonably fit. It is the equivalent of hiking up Stone Mtn about 2.5 times.
Hiking poles or a hiking stick are highly recommended for the steep and rocky sections.  There are restrooms (pit toilets) at the trailhead.
