There are many miles of hiking trails in Unicoi State Park. The trails provide a great opportunity to enjoy the scenery of the north Georgia mountains, with views and hiking experiences that change with each season. We will be hiking 2 different trails which will total about 5.5 miles in distance. The hikes are not difficult as they are mostly near the lake area or downhill.

The trail ends in the town of Helen, GA where we will spend some time enjoying the sights of the alpine town.

LAKE TRAIL
This is an easy 2.5 mile loop trail. It is relatively flat and varies from a forest road to a narrower single track trail. There are many nice views of the lake, the forest, and the mountains along its route.

UNICOI/HELEN TRAIL
3 miles, one-way, Compacted Soil Surface
This trail winds through rhododendrons and mountain laurels. It
crosses Lower Smith Creek and several small streams and intersects with
the Mountain Biking Trail before reaching Helen’s Unicoi Hill City Park.
