PANTHER CREEK FALLS

A hike to the falls in 3.6 miles (one way) and return back for total of 7.2-mile day hike. You follow a beautiful tumbling, cascading stream through a steep-sided valley with rocky cliffs to the dramatic and impressive Panther Creek Falls. The trail leads down to the pool for a grand view of the falling water and the large pool catching it. The trail continues through some especially grand hardwood stands. The USDA Forest Service has designated parts of this area as a Protected Botanical Area.
For those brave enough you can take a swim in the pool at the waterfall and climb onto the rocks under the falls. Highly recommended to cool off on the hike.
Things to bring:
– Snacks/lunch
– Water (2 liters)
– Hiking Shoes ( or River Shoes)
– Camera (optional)
– Swimwear and towel (if you like to swim or get under the waterfall)
– change of clothes (if you like to swim)
– extra pair of footwear (if you like to swim)
– Sunglasses / hat
– Sunscreen
– Sports drink (like Gatorade or Powerade) – recommended not required
